Here's To Never Growing Up

"Say, won't you stay forever stay
If you stay forever hey
We can stay forever young

Singing Radiohead at the top of our lungs
With the boom box blaring as we're falling in love
Got a bottle of whatever, but it's getting us drunk
Singing, here's to never growing up."
--Here's To Never Growing Up, Avril Lavigne

Mamma Knows Best

"So bow out, go!
Now I said bow out, leave!
I said take your bags and go,
'Cuz you're not for me
Mama knows best when times get hard
And papa always has a joke to make me laugh
Mama knows best when
I feel down, to bring me up
And always keep my feet on solid ground

Just keep the best of ma'
Daddy said to me
Always use humor as your therapy, yeah
Don't ever take life too seriously,
Just do you, 'cuz you do you so perfectly"
--Mamma Knows Best, Jessie J

Bootcamp Day 2

District 4 is still in the lead everyone! So today was better then yesterday. One of our challenges was who can scream the loudest and we won! Then everybody was started getting in trouble for saying squad...what does a gang have to do with a squad? Everybody was out to get us today though- what a bunch of sore losers. They were getting on my nerves, I was like was I mean to you when you were in the lead? No, so calm yourself down! Then the whole day one of my teammates kept singing "Started from the bottom now we here." I had a really great time, but the games are over until next week so, we'll see how things go from here. ~K

All Too Well

You call me up again just to break me like a promise.
So casually cruel in the name of being honest.
I'm a crumpled up piece of paper lying here
'Cause I remember it all, all, all... too well.

Time won't fly, it's like I'm paralyzed by it
I'd like to be my old self again, but I'm still trying to find it
After plaid shirt days and nights when you made me your own
Now you mail back my things and I walk home alone

But you keep my old scarf from that very first week
'Cause it reminds you of innocence and it smells like me
You can't get rid of it 'cause you remember it all too well
--All Too Well, Taylor Swift

Towers

"And you never bought me flowers,
Never held me in my darkest hours
And you left it so late that my heart feels nothing, nothing at all
Once we were made like towers
Everything could have been ours
But you left it too late now my heart feels nothing, nothing at all..."
--Towers, Little Mix

Darkness Is Strength

--Katherine Hernandez

Some say pain and grief are things that one must feel in their life,
Something that stops you for a moment,
But also gives you the strength to keep going.
I have felt it, and it hurts.
The somber feeling of loss, out of place, loneliness…

People say life goes on, but you’re stuck, you can’t be moved.
They don’t feel what you do, do they feel like they need to judge you,
But you don’t care, you’d rather not feel, and you force yourself to let it all out.

Now you’re numb…
You’re losing hope…
The light is fading…
You’re seeing darkness…

Soon you’re back, and you see a light,
Everyone misses you and wants you back.
You’re feeling warmth, light starts to fill you,

You won’t forget the pain, but now you’re stronger.

I'm very competitive so it was a little frustrating at first but towards the end we were doing better. I'm really liking these games because it allows you to meet new people and test your knowledge. We Are Who We Are

The title for this blog comes from a favorite song of mine. It's called We Are Who We Are by: Little Mix. They are a British girl group and I just find there music inspiring, here's a couple of lines from the song...

"We are who we are who we are, pretty's just a pretty word and I'm gonna shine like a star 'cause I'm the only me in this world. Throw away the books and the magazines, I'm never going to look like a beauty queen. We are who we are who we are and I'm just doing me, just doing me." -Little Mix

The Bleeding Of A Heart

   -Katherine Hernandez

Everything you've ever known can be taken away in a second
One second is as long as a minute, and in that moment anything can change,
You were forced to cry, like you've never cried before
You even almost died, by the wounds of a love,

A love that I told you could never be yours, but you still wanted more
You wanted it to fill you, and become you and then it finally did,
But as it did, I watched, and when I couldn't watch I cried for you
I cried because as I watched you bleed, I didn't know what to do,

The blood slowly consumed you, and all that was left was a shell
A shell of a friend that I used to know, and even though I watched as this happened,
What was I supposed to do?
Save you?
How?

How do save someone who doesn't want to be saved?
Doesn't want to admit what's happening, even though they know that it's consuming them?
I screamed to the sky in pain, but you were condemned
What more could I do?

But watch as the heart of a friend not only bled, but died, turning to dust, and to then ashes
And when it started to rain, I cried again as the ashes flew away and then there was nothing left
Nothing, but tears, and remembrance for what was...

"Life is a series of natural spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like."  ― Lao Tzu
